Kremlin to consider all government suggestions to raise pensions
MOSCOW, Feb 9 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin will consider all government suggestions on indexation of pensions for working pensioners, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
“We will continue working in this direction, the government submitted its vision of the problem on time, and there are several options in this vision. Our administration’s expect department will consider the suggested options, and we will make a decision together with the government after that,” he said.
He also denied a Reuters story saying that the government planned to allocate 500 billion rubles more to social spending before the upcoming elections to the parliament’s lower house State Duma and after the recent protests.
“You know, Reuters sent us a letter yesterday, in which it wrote that they had discovered provision of around 500 billion rubles or 800 billion rubles or 1 trillion rubles to neutralize the protests, and they asked us to comment on that. Reuters published the story 20 minutes later without even waiting for any response. I am stating that this is incorrect, this is an incorrect report of the Reuters agency,” he said.
